D' Cup Through The Years

D’ Cup Coffee Republic has always been more than cups and tables. It is the place where coffee, conversation, and coaching grew into a home for people who needed somewhere safe to land.

Through the years, faces have changed, seasons have shifted, and programs have evolved—but the heart stayed the same: a Third Place where you can breathe, be real, and begin again.

The photos below are milestones of that story—team members serving, guests gathering, coaches listening, prayers being hung on the Prayer Wall, and communities choosing to stay a little longer instead of rushing home.

Scroll through each year and remember: every frame is someone’s turning point.

2016 – Refuge Begins

In 2016, D’ Cup Coffee Republic opened its doors with a clear battle cry: Be Inspired, Be Transformed.
From the beginning, under the leadership of Chairman Adette Purto, D’ Cup Coffee Republic was never meant to be just another coffee shop. It was envisioned as a refuge—a place where people could slow down, breathe, and reconnect with God and with themselves.

Soft worship, unhurried tables, and a culture of listening gave the space a different weight. The Prayer Wall quietly invited written cries, thanksgiving, and petitions, signaling that this house would serve not only bodies, but also souls.

People came for coffee and food, but they returned because they felt something deeper: a Third Place where they were allowed to arrive tired, questioning, or searching—and still be welcome.

2017 – Coaching Becomes the Platform

In 2017, the next layer of the design came into view: life coaching became the platform of this Third Place.

Right inside D’ Cup Coffee Republic, Chairman Adette Purto—better known as Master Coach A—pioneered the Life Coach Certification Program. The Function Hall shifted from a “general events venue” into the training ground for future coaches—the birthplace of what would become Life Coach Philippines–International.

The coaches who began to serve in and around D’ Cup were not external providers renting a room; they were formed here, shaped by the certification birthed in the house. Coaching sessions, supervision, and shared life began to unfold naturally at tables and in corners.

Guests who walked in for coffee often found themselves staying for clarity, direction, and conversations that helped them see their lives in a new light. D’ Cup moved from being only a refuge to being a refuge with a coaching backbone.

2018 – Mental Health Steps to the Front

By 2018, D’ Cup Coffee Republic stepped into a clearer frontline: mental health and mental fitness.

We began speaking plainly about what many had carried in silence—burnout, anxiety, emotional fatigue, and the quiet weight of unprocessed life events. Coaches certified through the program pioneered here became visible partners in that work.

Gatherings, talks, and informal circles started naming inner battles directly, while still grounding people in faith and community. It became normal to say, “I’m not okay,” and still feel held, not judged.

D’ Cup was now recognized not only as a comforting place to stay, but as a place where genuine inner work and healing could begin. Help was available—and it was within reach.

2019 – Advancing and Preparing to Move

2019 was a year of forward movement and listening.

The mental health advocacy grew stronger. More coaches were certified. More guests found their way into coaching conversations, faith-rooted processing, and community support around the tables and in the hall.

At the same time, there was a growing inner awareness: the work had begun to outgrow the original walls. It was time to prepare for a new place.

We kept hosting, kept advocating, kept coaching—but now with the sense that God was positioning the house for a shift.

2019 became a hinge year: advancing where we were, while being made ready to be planted where we needed to go next.

2020 – Season Two: New Home, New Battle Cry

In 2020, D’ Cup Coffee Republic entered Season Two: a new location, under the pressure of a global pandemic, with a renewed battle cry: Be Coached. Be Transformed.

While many lights in the city went dark, we moved into our new home and chose not to close. In a time when it would have been easier to shut down, we stayed open—with adjusted formats, strict safety, and even deeper resolve to become a lighthouse.

Support, coaching, and prayer found new expressions, but the core remained: if someone needed a safe space, a listening ear, or proof that hope was still alive, we were still here.

Season Two began in crisis, but it confirmed something essential: D’ Cup was never just a business. It was, and is, a calling—and that calling moved with us.

2021 – B-Learning Society Is Born

In 2021, a long-brewing conviction finally took shape: the way people think shapes the way they live.

This was the year we birthed B-Learning Society—a learning movement anchored at D’ Cup Coffee Republic, with a Monthly Mental Model Masterclass held online by Master Coach A. The masterclass trains and nurtures Mental Model Collectors—people who intentionally study how thinking works so they can strengthen their own Mental Fitness and support others.

The primary goal of B-Learning Society is clear: it serves as the tentmaker of the B-Learning Home for Mental Fitness—laying the intellectual, spiritual, and community foundation for a future halfway home where people can rest, learn, and reset before going back into a demanding world.

In 2021, D’ Cup was no longer only a refuge and coaching hub. We were becoming a living classroom, quietly preparing the builders of the B-Learning Home for Mental Fitness.

2022 – Third Place and Training Ground

By 2022, D’ Cup Coffee Republic was firmly recognized as both a Third Place and a training ground.

The Function Hall and café together hosted leadership sessions, church equipping, advocacy gatherings, and B-Learning experiences. Many of these were supported or facilitated by Professional Certified Life & Mental Health Coaches formed through the certification pioneered in the house.

D’ Cup had become a place where people:

  • processed their lives,
  • learned to think more clearly, and
  • were equipped to serve others—

all under one roof.

We were no longer just a venue where people met; we were a lighthouse where people grew.

2023 – Seventh Year: A Year of Completion

In 2023, D’ Cup Coffee Republic marked its seventh year—a symbolic year of completion.

This season was less about launching something new and more about consolidating what had been faithfully built: refuge, coaching, mental health advocacy, and a thinking community through B-Learning Society.

We watched coaches, guests, and communities who had grown with us over the years stand more firmly in their own assignments.

In its seventh year, the house felt settled on a tested foundation. Completion did not mean an ending; it meant a solid base from which the next chapters could be written.

2024 – Season of Grace and the Wellness Quarter

2024 unfolded as a Season of Grace.

What had been built over years began to receive a different kind of support—unexpected provisions, restored relationships, and doors opening into new partnerships and assignments.

This was also the year we formally launched the Wellness Quarter at D’ Cup Coffee Republic—a clearer expression of what had always been in our heart: a night-side urban wellness space where food, coaching, mental fitness, and safe community could live together.

Born out of the work of B-Learning Society, the Wellness Quarter became a visible foreshadow of the B-Learning Home for Mental Fitness—a preview of what halfway homes for recovery and rebuilding could look like in the city.

The Wellness Quarter signaled that we were not only a place to cope, but a place to gradually rebuild:

  • healthier rhythms,
  • better internal responses to stress, and
  • more sustainable ways of living and leading.

Grace in 2024 looked like people returning, recovering, and re-rooting themselves in a place that had quietly stayed through their hardest seasons.

2025 – Season of Acceleration and Advancement

By 2025, the house stepped into a Season of Acceleration and Advancement.

Years of quiet groundwork in mental fitness and faith crystallized into clear, recurring community rhythms:

  • Mental Health Library Forum – a gentle, structured space where people learn about mental fitness through real stories, lived experience, and simple, usable tools. Not therapy, but a supportive, educational circle where it is safe to ask questions and practice new ways of coping.
  • Sunday Biblical Deep Dives – weekly Scripture-rooted sessions for those who want to process real life through the lens of faith. Not a replacement for church, but a Third Place setting where the Bible is opened alongside everyday questions, transitions, and battles.

These were not new ideas; they were the visible form of years of unseen work in refuge, coaching, and mental fitness.

In this Season of Acceleration and Advancement, D’ Cup stands clearly as what it has been growing into all along: a Third Place where coffee, coaching, mental fitness, and faith move together—so people don’t only find a seat; they find a way forward toward a life that is whole.
